The Election Commission (EC) has declared the schedule for elections to 161 union parishads (UPs) postponed earlier due to rise of coronavirus or Covid-19 infections.

The voting will be held on September 20 in those UPs. At the same time, elections to nine municipalities also postponed earlier will be held on the same day.

EC secretary Md Humayun Kabir came up with this information after holding a meeting on Thursday.

Meanwhile, by-elections to Cumilla-7 will be held on October 7.
